DIY Macrame Gem Necklace Tutorial from sustainability in style. This is similar to making a macrame plant hanger for the gems/stones and then finishing with  a 4 strand braid for the rest of the necklace.

DIY Doctor Who Rug Tutorial from Our Nerd Home. This was inspired by Tom Baker’s Scarf on Doctor Who. This DIY is made from a plain $13 dollar rug that was painted - go to the link to see what paint they used and how they did it. *I was going to post this earlier but became so distracted seeing one of my favorite Doctor Who sites had gone missing for knitting authentic and well researched Doctor Who Scarves. See that post here.

DIY Knit Outlander Inspired Cowl Free pattern by Kalurah on Ravelry.  I have seen a pay pattern on Etsy almost identical to this one, except I like this one better. “The Gathering” cowl is knit with size 50 (25mm) needles. It is free to sign up for Ravelry (no spam). Kalurah describes the cowl:

This cowl is inspired by the cowl worn by Claire Randall on the hit series Outlander.

I’ve studied the photos online and I think I have a really close interpretation. The cowl is knit entirely in Garter Stitch and the seam from Provisional Cast On and Kitchener Stitch is completely INVISIBLE!

The pattern has two full twists worked into the cowl so there’s no need to fuss with it after putting it on.

Cowl is SUPER stretchy and can be pulled down over your shoulders for an adorable little Capelet or pulled over your head and worn as a hood.

Before you say yes, get him angry. See him scared, see him wanting, see him sick. Stress changes a person. Find out if he drinks and if he does, get him drunk - you’ll learn more about his sober thoughts. Discover his addictions. See if he puts you in front of them. You can’t change people, baby girl. If they are made one way, it doesn’t just wear off. If you hate how he acts when he’s out of it now, you’re going to hate it much worse eight years down the road. You might love him to bits but it doesn’t change that some people just don’t fit.

This is one of the most important things I have ever read and I wish I would have come across it sooner. This is real, this is important.
